We also conduct supplier audits on a risk-based basis. These audits may include document reviews, policy checks, site assessments, and follow-up requests for evidence of compliance. Where concerns are identified, we require corrective action plans and monitor progress closely. Persistent failure to improve may lead to suspension or removal from our approved supplier base.

Training and awareness are important safeguards. Relevant staff are encouraged to understand the signs of exploitation, including restriction of movement, withheld documents, unreasonable working hours, unusual recruitment fees, and poor accommodation conditions. This helps our teams identify concerns early and escalate them appropriately.

We maintain several reporting channels so employees and third parties can raise concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical conduct. Reports may be made through internal management routes, compliance processes, or anonymous mechanisms where available. All reports are treated seriously, handled with discretion, and assessed promptly. No person should fear retaliation for speaking up in good faith.

Where a concern is raised, we investigate proportionately and act on the findings. This may involve engaging a supplier, requesting evidence, increasing audit activity, improving contractual controls, or referring matters to the appropriate external authorities where required. Our objective is to protect workers and prevent further harm.

Annual review is a key part of our commitment. Fitzrovia Storage reviews this statement every year to reflect changes in legislation, business operations, risk profile, and best practice. The review considers audit outcomes, reported concerns, supplier performance, and the effectiveness of our controls.

As part of that annual cycle, we update our policies, strengthen due diligence where necessary, and refresh staff awareness measures. We also look for opportunities to improve our supplier oversight and to make our reporting mechanisms more accessible and effective. This helps ensure our response to modern slavery remains practical and credible.
